Terms of use
The use of "MO|RE data" implies acceptance of these terms of use. MO|RE data is a generally
accessible eResearch infrastructure for sports science motor research data. The infrastructure is
operated by the Insꢀtute for Sport and Sport Sciences (IfSS) at the Karlsruhe Insꢀtute of Technology
(KIT). Data sets are stored and archived in the technical environment of the RADAR4KIT research data
repository.
The terms of use address the following two user roles: Data users and data providers. Data users use
the search funcꢀon and download suitable data sets. Data providers upload data to MO|RE data. For a
full use, a prior registraꢀon and login is necessary.
All informaꢀon and explanaꢀons on how MO|RE data works can be found in the corresponding manual
(see download area).
1. Scope of applicaꢀon
The following terms of use apply to the use of MO|RE data between the user and the operator of the
database. Use is only permiꢁed if the user accepts these terms of use. The terms of use of RADAR4KIT,
which can be viewed here hꢁps://radar.kit.edu/tos.html#receiver , must also be observed.
2
. Data input and general access requirements
.1 Data input
2
a) Users of MO|RE data undertake not to misuse the database, including the intenꢀonal entry/supply
of false data. Likewise, no illegal content - e.g. content glorifying violence, inciꢀng hatred or defamatory
content - may be uploaded.
b) Users provided with an access are obliged to protect the access against unauthorized use by third
parꢀes and are liable for any unauthorized use of an assigned access password made possible by their
conduct, insofar as culpability applies. Users shall noꢀfy the operators of the database immediately if
there is a reasonable suspicion that one or more accesses have been misused.
c) If the operator is made aware of legal violaꢀons in connecꢀon with a data record, it can block access
to this data record without consulꢀng the data provider and delete it if necessary. In addiꢀon, the
operator reserves the right to block access to MO|RE data if it is used contrary to these terms of use.
d) Data providers declare their consent that the data provided by them may be used by data users
(download, calculaꢀons, representaꢀons). The use of the data sets is permiꢁed under the condiꢀons
of the selected Creaꢀve Commons license CC-BY-SA 4.0 or CC-BY 4.0.
e) The copyrights of the respecꢀve data providers to the original data set stored unchanged in MO|RE
data remain intact.
f) The data may only be submiꢁed in anonymized form. Should personal data be included, the inclusion
of the data record in MO|RE data will be rejected.
g) By providing the data sets, the data providers agree to the storage of their data required during
registraꢀon and to the agreements on data transfer and use stated in the terms of use.
h) In order to upload data sets and use certain services of MO|RE data, a one-ꢀme registraꢀon is
required. MO|RE data uses your personal data exclusively for the provision of the service in accordance
with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a, f DSGVO for the purposes of user idenꢀficaꢀon as well as for contacꢀng you in
1
the context of service provision (consent, safeguarding legiꢀmate interests,
in parꢀcular funcꢀonality of the service). This ensures that contact can be made retroacꢀvely with the
data provider in the event of necessary correcꢀons or other intervening measures.
2.2 Quality assurance
a) The data provider is responsible for the completeness of the data set.
b) This includes the provision of sufficient data-related (e.g. authors, ꢀtle, year) and subject-specific
metadata (data type, measurement specificaꢀons, abstract).
c) With the transfer of the datasets and the associated metadata to MO|RE data, an automated (filter)
and a subject-specific quality assurance (editorial board) takes place. Details can be found in the
manual.
2.3 Archiving, data protecꢀon
a) Data contributed to MO|RE data are stored and managed according to EU law.
b) Data sets are made available by MO|RE data for an unlimited period of ꢀme.
c) The associated data protecꢀon declaraꢀon (cf. download area or registraꢀon e-mail) must be
observed.
2.4 Reproducibility and subsequent use
a) All published datasets receive a Digital Object Idenꢀfier (DOI) as a persistent idenꢀfier.
b) The assignment of DOIs ensures that datasets are uniquely idenꢀfied and referenced. Furthermore,
the data will be discoverable in other scienꢀfic databases and portals.
c) MO|RE data is not responsible for any kind of communicaꢀon of results from analysis and/or
interpretaꢀon of the provided data.
d) By using the data, you agree to act in accordance with the GDPR.
e) Data users agree to cite all used data sets according to good scienꢀfic pracꢀce.
3. Liability disclaimer
MO|RE data has been developed carefully and to the best of our knowledge according to the current
state of the art. However, no warranty for error-free funcꢀonality can be given. We therefore expressly
exclude liability for all damages of any kind arising from the use and applicaꢀon of the database.
4. Modificaꢀon of the terms of use
These terms of use come into force on 01.01.2023.
The operator reserves the right to change these terms of use at any ꢀme and without giving reasons.
